Sugar Plum Fairy
Country of Origin: Germany

ancing in your head on Christmas Eve while you excitedly await the arrival of Santa Claus, the Sugar Plum Fairy is a favorite character for all sweet-tooths.

She is perhaps best known for her beautiful dance welcoming Clara and The Nutcracker Prince to The Kingdom of Sweets, in Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker. This ballet which was first performed in Russia in 1892 and has become a holiday tradition for many families, is based on the book The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by E.T.A. Hoffman.

In it, The Sugar Plum Fairy invites her guests to sit and be entertained by Kingdom of Sweets subjects representing international delicacies such as Chinese Tea, Arabian Coffee, and Spanish Chocolate. Her crown is made of sugar and her skirt is made from specially spun cotton candy only found in The Kingdom of Sweets.

Be careful when you are around her, you may just find yourself craving cakes, christmas cookies, lollipops, ribbon candy, and other holiday treats!
