Jack Frost
Country of Origin: Scandinavian Region

ack is an elf from Scandinavian legend who was named Jokul Frosti, meaning Icicle Frost by the Norse Vikings. He is renowned for his artistic talents while sneaking through towns late at night painting beautiful frost designs on windows and over the winter leaves and grass.

In 1864, Harper’s Weekly published a drawing by Thomas Nast called “Central Park in Winter” Depicting Jack Frost, covered in icicles, bringing winter weather to the famous park. Thomas Nast’s Harper’s Weekly drawings brought many of the influential images of Santa Claus and Christmas to popular life in America.
